And Reinsdorf's now trying to say how "disgraceful" the booing was when he was instrumental in putting together that narrative.

I've always thought he did a masterful job of convincing people that somehow as the owner he had nothing to do with the Bulls breakup.

They want to boo somebody, Reinsdorf is the guy. A true duplicitous POS. Kraus was just doing his bidding and gets the brunt of the vitriol.

I'm surprised it took this long for somebody to mention Reinsdorf. I can't speak to the job he did creating the narrative that everything was Krause's fault, but he was the owner, he had the money and power, and he could have fired Krause at any time if he didn't agree with what he was doing. It's been a long time and my memory's not great, but it always seemed to me that he was more involved in the day-to-day of the White Sox than the Bulls and left most of that up to Krause.

But he could have stepped in whenever he wanted. Your GM wants to let the best coach in NBA history ride off into the Montana sunset without putting up much of a fight, and the best player in NBA history wants to run it back again for a chance at a 4-peat, but that GM isn't willing to do whatever it takes to keep the team together and prevent the GOAT from retiring, maybe step in and hire another GM. I'm sure he could have thrown a rock and hit any rando that would have been more than happy to throw a bunch of money at Phil and kiss his arse a little and do the same for MJ.

However, like my memory isn't great--and I wasn't a Bulls' fan anyway, so I wasn't that plugged in--I'm not sure how accurate "The Last Dance" actually was. Jordan produced it and had final cut, so the narrative that doc told was to make MJ look like the "good guy." Whether that was carefully crafted or, less nefariously, just MJ's biased side that he actually believed, I'm not sure it was a completely accurate portrayal of how it all went down. You have to always take documentaries with a grain of salt. Somebody always has an agenda.

John Paxon and Gar Forman did wayyyyy more damage to the Bulls than Jerry K.
