how are southern miss and ull doing so far?
Posted on 5/26/16 at 1:55 pm to UNO
Cajuns and Southern Miss both won. Southern Miss is probably behind the Cajuns and Tulane in the hosting pecking order since they finished 3rd in conference. They need to win their tournament (so do we)

houston just hit a grand slam against tulane. will be extremely difficult to come back and beat them twice.
things not looking good for tulane.

the highest rpi they could face on their side of the bracket is 84 (troy), and they're currently in the loser's bracket.
they won't face anyone decent until the final.

with the way connecticut is playing, the aac absolutely has 4 ncaa tournament caliber teams. not sure both will get in, though. looking like it'll be houston/connecticut in the championship with the winner obviously getting a berth to the ncaa tourney

CUSA is likely to get 4 w/ Tech, USM, Rice, and FAU

tulane goes down 5-3. they'll have to play early tomorrow against ucf, then beat houston twice on saturday.
alex massey, jp prince, corey merrill, and ross massey are all still available this weekend. it's doable, but it'll be tough.

One thing that hurts the RPIs of the American, is that we play 6 pre-conference weekends. By the time you get to 5 and 6, you are down to some scrub conferences from which to schedule. The league might consider a second home/home series for the conference.

agreed.
it does help tulane that they get to play houston home and home every year. don't they?
