I'm not sure if Rummel won any state championship in anything this decade

Rummel's American Legion baseball won the State Championship in 2005 and 2006 (for a total of 8 State Championships). They won the National Championship in 2006.

To put that into context, New Orleans has had four national championship teams, including the 1932 Peters team, the 1946 Jesuit team, the 1960 Jesuit team and the 2006 Rummel team. Jesuit was a national runner-up in 1934. De La Salle finished second in 1956.

Read the conversation.

I'm saying BM has been more dominant in basketball (back-to-back state championships with a 3rd denied by Katrina) than Rummel's solid baseball run (no state titles since 1997).

that would be true

rummel is good, but they're overrated in everything because everyone in metairie wants to see them win

meanwhile brother martin has done more in every sport

jesuit needs to do something in football soon before they drop to the cellar

Sure it does. Rummel prides itself on its football team, more so than any other team in the NO area. Even with the almighty Jay Roth at the helm, and you don't produce championships, to me that is overrated.

8 District Championships in 15 seasons. Last I checked, it's not very easy winning a 5A football title. You should know. West Monroe in the late 90's, Evangel after that, were unstoppable. Again, you need to learn what overrated means.

Brother Martin has never won a state title in football. In baseball, Brother Martin has only two state championships--not even close to what Rummel has.

Didn't want to talk about BM's state titles in wrestling (12), basketball (5) or cross country (7)?

Shame those wrestler and cross country boys weren't coordinated enough to play a real sport like the kids at the other schools. But that's the kids at Brother Martin for you.

da frick?

Rummel is consistently one of the best teams in the state in football and baseball

dont know how they are overrated. They are always in the top 10 in each sport, and always go deep into the postseason in each sport.

the baseball program is one of the top 3 in the state, and has been since that 1997 season. Sure, they have choked in the state title game and semifinals a lot, but compared to other teams, esp Bro Martin, there isnt even a comparison.

Same could be said with football. Rummel recently went like 10 years of utter domination of Brother Martin until the last 2 years or so.

And basketball, BM ran into a once in a generation player. They will never be that good again

no one at Rummel cares enough to argue with you about CC, soccer, wrestling, tennis or swimming. Strike up that conversation with a Jesuit yuppie

Yet no state titles in football to show for it?

What about basketball?
Rummel cared about wrestling in 2006 when they should have dominated the state tourney. But fell short once again.

I guess yall only care about the sports that yall are decent at.

you could say that about 95% of the schools since the inception of 5A football.

outside of West Monroe and Evangel, there are what, 4-5 other teams with 5a state titles?

up and down, they have their moments

the best athletes at the school play football, and rarely do the double duty with basketball, or the teams would be much, much better.
