In your opinion, what’s the % breakdown on him being drafted:
-due to his on court play up until this point
-because of who his dad is
Out of those 2 it is 100% because of who his dad is.
But there are more factors that go into signing a player than on court play up until this point and who their dad is. You listed it like those are the only 2 things scouts look at
A lot of late draft picks/undrafted signees are based off potential, not past results.

averaged 15/8/4 with 3 steals a game his two years in college and was All Pac 12 twice, All Pac 12 defense twice, and Pac 12 DPOY twice. Who was 10x the college player Bronny ever was and went.... UNDRAFTED. That Gary Payton Jr?
He is absolutely floundering lol. He’s caught himself in circles in his desire to prove that he wasn’t drafted because of his dad lol

Genes/athletic ability. Do you think Kharman Maluach got drafted over Derik Queen because of his dad or because NBA scouts see potential in him?

Gary Payton Jr was literally the worst possible comparison he could have made. His dad was a Hall of Famer so he had the gene pool going for him. That should have been enough to get him drafted based on 420's qualifications. He also had the 7th highest vertical in the draft so he should have been drafted off of that based on his qualifications. But he still went undrafted. Gary Payton was literally a much much better version of Bronny with an ex-NBA dad. His dad just wasn't LeBron.
Edit: I'm done with this one. He's the most annoying person on this entire site. i didn't think a person could be more insufferable than he is on the movie/tv board but turns out he's worse on here.

Gary Payton Jr was at Westwind Prep School at the same age Bronny went to the NBA...
Then he went to Salt Lake Community College.
He wasn't a pac 12 player of the year until he was 22.
Bronny will be 22 in 2 years so I guess we can compare them then.

You made the initial comparison. Now you don’t want to?
Give us some similar players that had the same measurables as bronny did in the combine at the same age then.

Are you forgetting that Bronny was a top 25 rated prospect entering college where he only spent 1 year and suffered cardiac arrest that made him miss a lot of time?
You seem to be of the opinion that he was an average high school player that only got drafted because of his dad based on 1 season's college stats and ignoring all the years before that.

I said Bronny wants to develop into Gary Payton Jr's NBA role. I didnt say anything about them being the same player in college.

How do you dumb fricks make a thread about Bronny James 12 pages long. He's irrelevant. You hate his dad, we get it. Move on.

Your comp is Gary Payton Jr? Seriously? Gary Payton Jr who averaged 15/8/4 with 3 steals a game his two years in college and was All Pac 12 twice, All Pac 12 defense twice, and Pac 12 DPOY twice. Who was 10x the college player Bronny ever was and went.... UNDRAFTED. That Gary Payton Jr?
Gary Pay, who's dad was also a Hall of Famer, so he checks the genes mark for you. Who also finished 7th in vertical jump at the combine so he checks that mark for you. But yet, UNDRAFTED.
Bronny, who started six games his entire career and averaged less than two baskets a game, deserved to be drafted

Somehow he’s going to say being a couple years older hurt him and he didn’t have as much potential as bronny does, or some dumb shite like that
Or how doing great in college meant he was already maxed out and didn’t have room to improve
Anything to deny the main reason why he got drafted lol

Kind of like how Arch Manning was the #1 player in the country coming out of high school, and is finally going to get his chance to start in year 3 of college?
And he may be a good player eventually, but he was rated #1 b/c of his 2 uncles.

no, I admit Gary Payton performed better at Salt Lake Community College than Bronny did at USC. He averaged 9.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per game as a freshman and that's better than Bronny was as a freshman at USC. He was a year older due to taking a year off between high school and college but that wouldn't have narrowed the gap much.
I just don't understand why you would compare 4 and 5 years removed from high school stats from Gary Payton at Oregon State to Bronny's freshman year at USC off suffering cardiac arrest and having to rehab and take time off. Well I understand why YOU would, I mean I dont think anyone reasonable would.
Bronny was the higher recruit coming out of high school.
