As do I.....
Keeping keep talking about what Ryan is saying but I think it is a front office move. Once they sit down and talk they can work out a lot of things and money heals all wounds.

I was going to say that I think San Diego makes a run for him, and his home ERA would be like 0.80 between his home splits and being at Petco. FWIW, I think the Padres will turn a few heads next year.

I think it is crazy that a lot of you guys will think Hamilton will only get something like 4/$60 million. Look at the market around him. Buehrle 4/56, Ethier 5/85, Werth 7/126, etc.

I think Hamilton will go upwards of $18-$20 million per year based off of his incredible production, which now seems to be underrated by a lot of people.

I think he will get 6 years for around $130 million. Teams might not want to do 6, so it will more likely be 5 years with an option for a 6th year.

Yeah, I could totally see that. I just saw 4/$60 being discussed and I was surprised. I also think he stays.

It is funny Rangers fans pretty much hate him now but they were same ones earlier in year who were praising him like crazy and talking about him being best in game

I've never doubted his talent. I still think he is easily a top 10 and more like a top 5 player in the game. But his effort, injuries, and plate discipline the last couple of months were unacceptable. I would love it if he stayed on the Rangers, he can easily take over games. But 100% effort all the time would be nice too.

Legit middle of order bat one who changes a pitchers game plan is hard to come by..... Those types of players don't hit market often..... He has another 4 good years of 30+ home runs in him I would think

Definitely. What's kind of interesting though, is that in back to back years in free agency, there will be an MVP slugger available.

I think the one thing that will keep Hamilton from getting an outrageous contract is the fact that it is so hard to predict his future. How will his body hold up from all the drug use, what will his mental health be like in a new city, can he stay clean, etc.. With Pujols, everyone knew what they were going to get. With Hamilton, I'm not sure it's as clear. He's definitely more than capable of sustaining those numbers.

If he stays clean his body doesn't have the wear and tear of many other players so he may be a better bet

Years of crack use can't be great for your body. I still hope the Rangers sign him, I'm just not seeing it from everything that's been said by both sides.
