And the Chargers know top 5 picks since the CBA in 2011 are generally getting either the offset language removed or an upfront signing bonus. If they don't want to deal with those clauses, they shouldn't field a shitty football team. And trying to nickel and dime a top 3 draft pick with clauses that other highly drafted players generally don't get won't fix your shitty football team problem.
Congrats on having one of the most incompetent FO in the NFL.

All I know is what date it is, and how desperate these front office guys want to win (because if they don't, they're out of work) and then they publicly pulled the offer...yikes.
I'm not sure that is true for the Chargers right now

Seems reasonable to me
but who has the leverage here? the chargers. only the final result will tell us if this kid's agent let him down.
if the chargers cave, brilliant.
if he sits and re-enters...get a new agent.

I'm not sure that is true for the Chargers right now
perhaps you're right, but more often than not, that statement would be dead wrong.

Bosa has offered to let the chargers pick one or the other like every player at his slot. Chargers are trying to change the way this is done.

If they are willing to throw away the #3 pick, sure. That is a pretty huge hit, especially with the current rookie salary structure with the 5th year option
I have no idea what his financial situation is. At this point, I'm not sure caving in is his best move

I agree more often than not. The Chargers aren't currently worried about their long term success in San Diego

one thing is for sure, there is no win win situation left if he sits, they're both losers only he's the bigger loser. if he takes less, he's the loser and they're the winner. If the chargers cave they're the loser and he's the winner.
august 24th though means they both can't be winners.

other than jeff fisher (twice actually), jobs relocate, but their current occupants do not
again, i'm largely ignorant and this is the only nfl news I've heard, but it's that outrageous of a situation given the date.
just looking at things from an abstract point of view. I don't want to know anything else. the nfl sucks.

Just read the actual screenshot the Chargers put out
What a pathetic organization.
Of course he is being offered more money than any charger draft pick since 2011. It is the highest draft pick they've had

all that matters are the issues, priorities and desires of the people at the table. I don't blame sides unless one side is acting in bad faith, and this doesn't sound like a large enough sticking point to be acting in bad faith.
just my uninformed take.

Do you work for the Chargers organization? Because this whole thread you've been trying to do your best spin job. I'm sorry your favorite team is being an arse about this situation, but you don't have to suck them off 100% of the time buddy.

it really could be that bad of a negotiation with his agent though. we'll see
if it is on the chargers he won't pay too dearly for it next year. if it's his agent, a new agent won't save him from sliding out of the first.

That wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing in the world for him

Nick Hardwick says the players all think Bosa is weak and shouldnt be concerned about offset cause he will get extended before year 5 if hes good.
Always a good thing to let your players publicly trash draft picks. Very professional.

That wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing in the world for him
the offer that was pulled just required him to exist until the month of march if i'm understanding things correctly.
for me it's a wash long term if you're that awesome, so may as well start out comfortably
I would say the difference long term (if any) means you start out with better endorsements or endorsements...how many guys in 3rd round are going to be plugging subway their rookie year?
