IMO what should have happened is this. If Colorado wanted to out of the Big 12, they should have gone to the MWC. They would have had the chance to get better and would have been the key element in getting the MWC an auto bid. If they would have went to the Mountain West, Utah, BYU and TCU most likely would have stayed. Adding Boise St, Nevada, Fresno St and Hawaii like originally planned would have made a new MWC look like this:
TCU
Boise ST
Utah
BYU
Colorado
Colorado ST
San Diego ST
Fresno ST
Air Force
Nevada
Hawaii
Wyoming
UNLV
New Mexico
That would have made a conference at least equal to and IMO better then the Big East. 14 Teams with the possibility of getting SMU and Houston to be the first 16 team conference. I think that would have been a nice conference.

Colorado

San Diego ST
Fresno ST
Air Force
Nevada
Hawaii
Wyoming
UNLV
New Mexico

louisville has gotta be waiting by the phone waiting for the call from the Big 12. This new incarnation of the big east is a total joke.

I could sorta see the Big 12 going after Louisville and Cincy still. Could finally take away an AQ bid from the Big East and opens up another at large spot.

Getting Boise in probably solidifies the Big East's BCS AQ status if the rules stay the same. They get credit for Boise's past success when they join the conference.
