It's because you can't legally out them. The only reason it's coming out is because Fleming told a teammate. There's a reason they were out of the game for a year though.
There's a solid chance even the SJSU coach didn't know when taking the job and now is in an impossible situation.
Unless you're Lia Thomas and being a dick about it/you transition early enough you can 100% get away with no one knowing because the med people can't really disclose it etc
