the sport needs characters and personalities. bad guys can be good.

I wish they could figure something out where we could see big name horses have a career after 3 years old instead going straight to the breeding farm. match races, etc.

I don't think the sport has ever had a real shortage of personalities between trainers and owners at least.

That'd take a money commitment to match what folks are making in stud fees and the like off winning 3 year olds. Tough to match that.

Gotta start by breeding horses who can run without being held together with a prayer. And we need some outcrosses for that. Everything is an into mischief, tapit, or uncle mo these days.

Thankfully unbridleds song is gone. Mischief and justify also throw very brittle horses

Beeeding to sell has ruined the game.

That’s why the distaff division is my favorite. So many top mares run on at 5 and even 6. Mostly homebreds.

It’s hard to get them insured to run on after if they win big as well.

baffert is a horrendous turf trainer, because on the grass, you just cant run 21 2/5 and hold on. you get your arse run over.

he can juice his horses up for the dirt, it doesnt work on the grass

So the vets don’t scratch him and put him on the vet’s list, making the Preakness undoable.

Pimlico is a Stronach track. They let little Bobby get away with murder there.

Hey I get it. But it would be nice to have someone that finally had the balls to do something to help generate interest in the sport instead of making it just gambling centric.

Mcpeek is trying. He’s been trying for years. I wish tracks had been more open to his app. And he ran Anna in the travers and if she wins tomorrow he’s going to take on the good older males in the Stephen foster.

Stonestreet, godolphin, and juddmonte run their superstar fillies beyond 3.

Maybe burnham will win and we will get to see him for years. We need more good geldings.

It’s just nice to know he almost certainly isn’t winning it this year.

Better find a mudder this year. Track conditions will probably be sloppy. Occasional heavy rain expected in Louisville tomorrow.

|Aspy—who do you like ? I was all in on Tappan Street until the injury. Looking at Journalism hard as Curlin has always been my favorite horse. Enjoyed watching his nimbleness at the SA. Sovereignty seems to be improving and is in my Tri. Waiting to see what the weather brings for the rest.|
