eta: You are showing pitchers though. Bo was in incredible shape.
Bro, you can find them at different positions in the park.
Besides, the fact that dudes can play in the league and look like they are one hotdog away from diabetes doesn't help Bo's argument any.

Hey! Johnson was drafted by the Rams, okay!
Never played, but I got you.

If those are the only choices, I go with Bo Jackson because we know he could play multiple sports well. Neither is the greatest of all time though.
Yes, these are the choices per Sport's Science.
Who do you think is the greatest all-time?

, I would've put Deion Sanders ahead of Brown as far as pure athleticism goes.
If he wasn't scared to tackle...YES.......BUT the GREATEST COVER CORNER EVER..............

What do other players have to do with Bo? MLB has a ton of athletes. You act like it's all fat asses. Besides, Bo played 2 major sports. His "argument" is rock solid when you look at professional lore. All-time greatest athlete? Probably not. I would look at guy like Thorpe, but Jackson is up there.

The competition matters when you are judging one's greatness, especially when it is for "greatest athlete".

Even 90% of the "fat asses" are athletic. Speed does not necessarily equal athleticism. I'll give you that a one inning pitcher like Bob Wickman isn't athletic but it's nonsense for someone to argue that Babe Ruth wasn't an athlete because he was fat.

They are deemed "athletes" because we recognize the game they play as a sport.
NASCAR is a sport. Do you consider Dale Earnhardt, Jr. an athlete?
Tiger Woods dominated golf, a sport, for over a decade. He is in the running for "greatest athlete of all time"?
Just because your fat arse plays a sport doesn't make you athletic.

I think I am getting what people talk about when they joke around about "OT" this or that. Wow. You think playing in MLB actually "hurts" Bo's legitimacy?
Again, I didn't create this final bracket. The post was pretty simple; pick between the 2 left standing. And as I mentioned above, I can see Thorpe being greatest of all-time. But he's NOT ON the list.

Now you're just trolling. Bo wasn't fat. Not all players in MLB are fat. Most of them aren't.
Anyway, thanks for your education

Yes, but just because your fat doesn't make you unathletic. I think most o-linemen are athletic.
Both Brown and Jackson were incredible athletes

I didn't say Bo was fat.

I would say Jim Thorpe.
Go look at that dumb Sportsnation bracket. They have Tony Hawk, Tiger Woods, and Dale Earnhardt on it as finalists.

+1
Olympic gold medal in pentathlon, decathlon, voted into pro football hall of fame, and played pro baseball. I don't think anyone on that list can match his achievements.

Yeah, some of them were ridiculous. Sounds like many of us agree Thorpe is the greatest. At least they narrowed it down to 2 great athletes though, and Bo Jackson will win. He is up there all-time for sure.

No argument from me that Bo Jackson was a great athlete, it's just when they start saying "greatest of all time", you have to look further than the last 20-30 years.

Right, because baseball requires so much "athleticism".
If you are good at it, you bet it does.
