Would Birmingham support an NFL team long term? That seems to be college football only territory.

Seems Birmingham should try to get a functioning interstate highway through the middle of town first:
I59/20 to close for 14 months

Raiders are a joke franchise. Trash organization from top to bottom

Oakland wants to stay close until their new home as ready unless there were a chance to play in Vegas. A lot of their employees would have to move twice were they to make it a road show.
Were it to happen I would think they could create an interesting bidding war.

Where would they play in the "city" of S.F.? AT&T Park? Old Kezar Stadium?
By the way, that stadium was the first home for both the Niners and Raiders.

Depends by what you mean by support? If the Iron are an indication people would show up, but paying to get in would be a different story.
There were probably 25k people at the Iron game, but only 17k ticket sold

Birmingham AL is not be this lucky. But every home game would sell out here. I'd go to all of them.
Ditto
Would be awesome. But not getting my hopes up

Bham would definitely support an nfl team. Especially if/when the new stadium is in place. NFL has star power, which would pack the stadium if no their reason

I would be the Mexico City raiders for a year , than claim the Mexico market after moving to Las Vegas

The NFL will never work in Alabama. Alabama and Auburn fans won't root for a team that cannot schedule and buy at least three wins a year.

Don’t kid yourself if you believe the iron are actually supported

Not true. If you finish dead last in your division, you are automatically scheduled to play the bottom of each of the other divisions the next year.

Thousands of Raiders fans around Legion field might be the most dangerous area in human history

True, but the way the NFL schedule works now is that you play home and home with your division for 6 games, 4 games against a division in the other conference, 4 games against all teams in a division in your conference and the two teams that finished in the same position in the other two divisions in your conference.
Now the difference is that in the NFL is that you can't buy wins against teams that you know are weaker than you. A Birmingham NFL team can't schedule rent a win pay days against the Lions at home every year.

Not a shot in hell this ever happens, but this would be a rare exception to get me to go to a game at Legion Field.
I don't get why the Raiders just play in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium. The Raiders have a larger fan base in southern California than the Rams and Chargers combined. When the Chargers were in SD, it was still a home game for the Raiders.

Apparently this turned into a huge argument in the council meeting today. Mayor says he has no clue what’s going on. Crazy times.
