What is that, exactly? Just a sports and pop culture site? I don't listen to his podcast very much

And already it has lost all credibility.

Second article I see is done by Jon Favreau. I'm out.

I like Simmons and I like some of the people that will work for him. I don't like the fact that he hired the tool bag Favreau that used to be Obamas speech writer. I also don't like how this guy gargles on Obamas balls every chance he gets.

Favreau is a brilliant guy. I'd want him working for me, too.

From what I understand, he's basically grabbing talent now and figuring out exactly how he wants to use that talent later. I'd expect a mash of pop culture, politics, and sports for a while.

The move to cover politics and tech will not work as well. Simmons' frat boy demographic will not want to read think pieces by the former Obama speechwriter

He had Favreau on his podcast. I'm sure he has stats that suggest to him if using Favreau as a writer would be worthwhile.

It's kinda impossible to be a new pop culture site in 2016 and not talk about this election.

I'm going to throw a bone out there and suggest once it gets some traction that the typical HBO crowd won't mind given the political content that's on HBO on a regular basis.

While it'll obviously pull some Grantline/ESPN folks, it's not going to necessarily cater to the same crowd he had with ESPN.

I'm looking forward to catching his Any Given Wednesday once it starts to air.

I'm sure he is, but as a consumer I don't want to read his opinion. I don't frequent the websites I like for political banter and opinion. It's why I stay away from the cesspool that is the poli board.

I heard the Pod with Favreau, he sounds like a really smart cat. The topic was a little off for me, but he sounded like a really smart guy.
