I'm having a tough time thinking of one bigger than the Bush lateral

If my memory serves me right, they were about to run away with that game

Most of the BCS championship games weren't that close but I suppose you could say that the Miami defensive player that had the ball stripped by Clarette probably feels like a stupid cock.

Honorable mention: Snoop Minnis being too dumb to be eligible to play against OU

Yeah...I think his team may have jumped all over him

I remember them saying something silly about SEC speed after that return

You could probably say that the entire offense of OSU deserves a choke award in that game. Troy Smith and company didn't even have 100 total yards at the end of the game I think.

Troy Smith?

I think the total offense had 92 yards or something

From wikipedia

quote:

The Gators held the Buckeye offense to only 82 total yards for the game, and Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith completed only four passes for 35 yards and an interception.

More incredibly stupid than a choke. Them getting stuffed on 4 & 2 when they could have put the game away was worse.

I consider a mental lapse like that choking

Yeah...well I can't blame them for running it with White. He was great all night. They just didn't get it blocked.

I would agree. You can't help but wonder what the frick that guy was thinking right there. If USC goes on to score that drive they probably end up blowing out UT.

While that play was in progress I almost turned off the TV because I thought it was over

Then Bush gave UT life and we know the end of that story

The coaching staff of Texas against Alabama provided a pretty colossal choke job. Ignoring the fact that nobody on the coaching staff would even make eye contact with Gilbert after McCoy went down, the shovel pass call at the end of the first half was the perfect example of a call with nothing to gain and everything to lose.

If Texas had even a decent coaching staff that year, they win that game with or without Colt McCoy.

-Reggie Bush's lateral

-Weinke fumbling the ball at his own 10-yard line only down by 6.

-Jason White's entire game against the LSU defense.

-The Oklahoma receiver (forget his name) muffing the punt return deep his own territory against USC.

-The failed 4th down attempt and interception at the goal line in the first half of the Florida/Oklahoma game. Instead of 10 or 6 potential points, they got 0.

Handing off to Lendale was absolutely the correct call

Good call. I thought they would just run out the clock and regroup at halftime. Definitely a choke job, not Mack's finest hour

For some reason leading up to the Rose Bowl they kept showing a replay of the Reggie Bush executing that lateral in HS. The other thing is, that white guy he tried to lateral it too could have easily caught that ball and scored on the play. If that were the case you would probably be calling it the best play in NCG history not the biggest choke. Unfortunate, because I like when little league shite like that works in high level football like that.
