In light of John Madden’s passing, who’s your favorite duo(or trio), regardless of sport

Peak Al Michaels, Madden at the end but still good. Electric SNF. Arguably the 2 GOATs at their job.

Ron and Mike screams late 90’s college football, bonus Adrian Karsten(RIP) on the sideline

Madden and Summeral was better than Madden and Michaels.

I loved MNF when it was Michaels, Gifford, and Dierdorf.

Madden / Summerall
Michaels / Gifford / Deirdorf

Those two encapsulated my childhood and adolescence.

I really enjoy Buck / Aikman these days.

Madden Summerall easily.

Cosell-Meredith-Gifford was fun at times. Everyone hated Howard and Dandy Don had his moments.

I know a lot is being said about Madden currently and rightfully so but mid/late 90s Ron Franklin, Mike Gotfried, and Adrian Karsten can't be touched as greatest trio of all time

Uncle Verne and Todd Blackledge early 2000s SEC on CBS (McDonough and Blackledge are great currently)

Anything Dick Enberg called: NFL, NBA, CBB on NBC and CBS

Greg Gumbel, Steve Jones and Bill Walton NBA on NBC

Bob Costas and Doug Collins NBA on NBC

Forgot about Merlin Olsen. I agree, he was very good.

The best of all time.

I never liked Madden and Michaels. They seemed to be too opposite to have great chemistry. And Michaels has been a lot better with Collinsworth but when he was with Madden, he spent way too much time talking about the business of football and dropping front office names nobody cared about.

I'd throw in Tony Kubek from that time period as well.

Vin and Joe were great, but I’d argue Bob Costas and Tony Kubek were just as good. Kubek is the best analyst in baseball history. And I liked Joe and Tony together, too. But Vin is the best play-by-play man in baseball history.

For football, Summerall and Madden, and second place isn’t even close to them.
