If tweet fails to load, click here. Also apparently offered Hendrickson a contract at ~$30M per year before letting him seek a trade. (Reported but unverified.)
Maybe they are getting serious?

They needed to stop the revolving door at TE, but they are going to have to address the defense sooner or later.

Yep, we need to go heavy on the defense during FA and draft. Also need guards on the OL.

Having $80 million tied up in 3 receivers next year is certainly a choice.

Not really a huge deal honestly. The Eagles have 9 players on $40M+ contracts right now.

Burrow needs to demand a trade to the cowboys right now. Get out of there

A few seasons ago they made significant additions to their defense, they've spent money like after the Superbowl they went and added 3 offensive lineman because of how many times Burrow was sacked.

Not sure paying middling TE like Mike Gesicki to a middling TE contract qualifies as getting serious

I don’t disagree, but they didn’t drop massive, market leading money on it. Those were FA additions if I am not mistaken, right?
Regardless, if they pay the big names on offense (Chase/Higgins) over the next two years, and pick up even just average DBs and DL players, they’ll be SB contenders.
Last years defense may be the worst defense I have seen at the NFL level. If they can just get average defensive play, they’ll be hard as hell to beat.

Not on its own, but two things make me think it is possible in combination with the Mike G re-signing news:
1). The reports about Hendrickson
2). Gesicki was pined for as someone he wanted retained on offense.
The only domino left this year is Chase. Then use FA and the draft to stock up in the trenches and defensive backfield.

This trying to outscore teams with no defense and little protection from the OL is so dumb

I am clearly missing what direction you’re going… My original point was Philly spends money to keep players. 9 players over $40M signed in recent years.
Your answer was to tell me the Bengals spent $53M combined between two players?
I just don’t understand your direction, is all.

I mean they've spent a lot more than 53 million clearly those are the only numbers the website posted. The Bengals have spent money trying to to get better in recent years both on the OL and defense
Posted on 3/9/25 at 9:35 am to Skenes
Not nearly as much as they could have, which was my original point.

Signing Gesicki to a 3 year deal signaled to you that they are now serious?

Someone didn’t read the thread for an explanation of that viewpoint. SMH
