When was the last strong draft class of QBs?

1983, John Elway, Todd Blackledge, Jim Kelly, Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien, and Dan Marino

2020

Round 1: Joe Burrow (No. 1), Tua Tagovailoa (No. 5), Justin Herbert (No. 6), Jordan Love (No. 26)
Round 2: Jalen Hurts (No. 53)

This was a stronger class, Burrow was head and shoulders above everyone else. Jury is still out on Herbert but has the MSB changed their tune yet on Tua and Jalen?

They couldn't get a couple of 1sts for Fields?

If so, draft Young and trade Fields. Restart your clock with a QB on his rookie deal. Sign a mid tier vet to mentor Young for a year.

This is the best idea yet.

is there a qb with this value in this year's draft?

If anyone knew that now he would have gone in the top 10.

It's impossible to know sometimes who will be good and who won't. You can have all the tangibles and intangibles and end up on a crappy team with a turd GM who ruins what could be a great career or you can end up in a great organization who builds with you

It’s the right move.

Team picking first overall needs as much help as possible.

There is no Mahommes or Luck in this draft.

This draft is especially weak compared to other years.

trade down to #4 with Indy then trade down again to #9 with Carolina

If you are at it, swap with the Texans and get something from them if you can, then swap with Indy.

But is there someone significantly better than Justin Fields?

I don’t really know but I don’t think he’s going to be a long term solution at qb. People talk about his potential but he’s been pretty bad throwing the football.

I realize he doesn’t have much to work with but in a league this offensively friendly you’d hope he’d have shown a little more. Great runner but just don’t see that really worth building around.

So are you saying the neither Stroud or Young are better than the current QBs on those team's rosters?

That's a dumb way of looking at things

Why? Teams with a talented roster and a QB on a rookie contract can make some really deep runs in the playoffs.
