This was an absolutely awesome game to attend in person. I've always thought it would be cool to be in attendance when a much smaller school and huge underdog beats a storied program such as an Oklahoma. It did not disappoint. Watching the Baylor fans who have been waiting for a moment like this to occur since they were last relevant in the late 70's rush the field at the end was pretty surreal.

Oh, and RGIII is even better in person than he is on TV. Assuming he plays well in the last 2 games, it will be an absolute travesty if he doesn't win the Heisman. Best player (outside of Cam Newton) I've seen in several years.

My son is a Baylor freshman and he has been to some big LSU games. He said it was an awesome game in person. RG3 is a beast.

Yeah it'll be retarded if he doesn't (assuming he has a good last 2 weeks).

Who will? Richardson?

If Luck does it'll be one of the biggest travesties in Heisman history.

I mean compared to an SEC school of course. But their stadium seats only 50k people. And it's spread out design isn't going to trap any noise created.

Just a minor dispute, but they've been relevant (relatively speaking) more recently than the 70s. I went to school there from 93-95 and they were for the most part competitive at that time and prior to my arrival there.

I would have loved to have been in attendance.

In the 80's Baylor had more people in the NFL than any other program sans Notre Dame and Michigan.
Baylor was "relevant" until 1993 or so.

Grant T was a recruiting and player developing machine. He wasn't a very good field general though.

I think Baylor would have been better off giving Ready more time. He had a good staff with Andy running the defense. Plus Larry Fedora and Trooper. I'm pretty sure between 93-95 we actually had ranked recruiting classes.

Hiring Dave Roberts was a huge mistake. Kevin Steele could have been good but lost the program with a boneheaded decision to lose the first game (worst way to lose ever).

Agreed. The Roberts/Steel combo sent BU into a hole that has taken 15 years to climb out of. In the SWC days and at the time of the Big12 being formed, BU was easily the 3rd strongest program behind UT and A&M. And at that time, BU was stronger than UT, but didn't have the long history (and of course the $$) of Texas obviously.
