Agreed. The Roberts/Steel combo sent BU into a hole that has taken 15 years to climb out of. In the SWC days and at the time of the Big12 being formed, BU was easily the 3rd strongest program behind UT and A&M. And at that time, BU was stronger than UT, but didn't have the long history (and of course the $$) of Texas obviously.

In the 80's Baylor had more people in the NFL than any other program sans Notre Dame and Michigan.
Baylor was "relevant" until 1993 or so.

Grant T was a recruiting and player developing machine. He wasn't a very good field general though.
I just joined this forum because this thread intrigued me as a Baylor fan (and grad). I found this when searching on Griffin info online. I don't think I've slept since we beat OU. lol
The discussion regarding Tebow was interesting especially, so I thought I'd post this...

This was taken before our game with OU. He's obviously there to watch 2 good QB's, but I'm guessing he left really thinking about just one. :)

BTW, I'm a life long Broncos fan, and I really want Tebow to succeed because I also really like him as a person, but if Griffin somehow ended up on the Broncos, I don't think there's much that could make me happier in the football universe!

(Sorry for the size)
