I’d say they’re about the same. Both states love baseball, especially at the high school and collegiate levels.

You'd really have to run some hard numbers to get an exact answer. I know that 50% of LSU's roster is from Louisiana relative to Ole Miss where 29% of their roster is from Mississippi. But you also have to account for the fact that Mississippi is also half the population of Louisiana and do you run those numbers for just the starters or the entire roster?

The teams within our two states made up almost 10% of the teams in regionals when we only account for 2.3% of the total population. Pretty impressive.

Don't forget kids that get drafted and go to the minors.

overall louisiana is better ranking #18 in mlb players produced and Mississippi would be 29.

in general, based on pure numbers its

1. cali
2. florida
3. texas
4. georgia
5. new york
6. illinois

then you kind of have a group of

north carolina
louisiana
arizona
virginia
new jersey
south carolina
alabama
ohio
oklahoma

mississippi would be in the next tier. They are top heavy.

now if you are talking percentage of HS baseball players that go on to play D1 ball, louisiana is behind

1) florida
2) georgia
3) virginia
4) Deleware
5) North Carolina

louisiana would be tied with conn for 6th with 5.1%. I would be willing to wager that overall % that play any form of baseball would be higher than deleware and conn though.

You want to know where there is talent? Texas My kid is a 2027 team, Texas has bout 15 teams that can beat the best La team and the best La team beats the best MS teams.

umm no, the top teams in LA can hang and beat the top teams anywhere. its why Barbe is always in the top of the national rankings.

thats like saying nevada doesnt have as much talent as texas so texas has 15 teams that can beat bishop gorman.

or cali has more talent than florida so cali has 15 teams that can beat IMG.

shows ignorance.

Enough of your bullshite.

I watch about 100 games a year. in the 2027 year there arent any teams in La that can handle the top teams from Texas on a consistent basis.

Can they beat them, of course. But consistently the best teams from this state do not fare well competing against the top Texas teams. Sorry you feel the need to be a frickwad all the god damn time.

Moscona doesn’t know jack. He’s so full of shite.

He swore up and down from a reliable source that LSU was hosting a regional.

Yes, youth sports. I not familiar with the 2025s, pretty up to speed on 2026s and 2027s.

There are elite 14 year olds with college interest in the age group, so it is a fair indicator.

Probably not as easy to predict as NFL kickers, but pretty easy to see the trajectory. But of course some of the Texas and FL kids play upwards of 100 games per year, so who knows what that will do to them.

The Majors are a different story, but yea trajectory is pretty easy. Driving to Orlando right now to a gathering of specialists (kickers, punters, snappers) and every single one of these kids can/will play D1. Just a fight now to see who gets the best spots. SEC is the goal, but damn it depends on so many other people/events…and you performing perfectly if you ever get a shot.

The talent pool is just so much larger. There are more kids in the Atlanta area alone than Louisiana has as a state.

im talking high school dumbass. not 14 year old 8th graders.

of course travel teams from texas are going to be better. from a pure numebrs standpoint they have more d1 kids. also have a shite load more high schools for those kids to go to.

the top 2-3 hs teams in LA can absolutely hang on a consistant basis with the top teams in texas. just like georgia, florida, cali and one offs like bishop gorman, st mary prep, etc can.

South lake carrol is #1 ranked hs team in texas and i can tell you if West monroe or Barbe played them in a 10 game series it would be 5-5 maybe 6-4.

frick off. by the way zt and mvp from cali would destroy all the texas 14u teams....does that mean the top teams liek southlake cant compete with De LaSalle or Orange Lutheran??? nope in fact i would be willing to bet southlake would beat them 6-4 or 7-3 in a 10 game series.

Texas as 21 D1 schools and 350k graduates. La has 11 and 30k graduates. It is kind of easy to see why the numbers are as they are. It isnt talent, it is geography.

Did you really just talk about state talent and ZT? They have kids from NC, SC, KY, PA, TX, AZ and more that play with them. They arent a local Cali team by any stretch. That is like saying Texas Prime is a Texas team, or Texas ZT.

Twelve is all local Texas and can play with just about any in the country.
