It has to be hard for their sister loving fans. Saban’s big advantage was always paying the best players, fielding the strongest teams. Now with NIL, things are even and Bama becomes just another team.

I mean he made the playoffs with a running back at QB.

This may not be the end of Saban, but it’s the end of Saban as we know him. He’ll still get his share of wins, he just won’t dominate like they did not long ago.

If “just another team” means getting to the CFP and taking the national title favorite to OT, I’ll take it.

They shouldn’t have been in the playoffs anyway. They didn’t earn it

Michigan was better and Bama nearly won due to coaching

There's nothing significant about tonight in terms of Saban long term. He has a shitty QB, which is something he can fix, and yet he still took his team to the final play in overtime in the semifinals.

Saban is still Saban. Still recruits, develops talent, and wins... year after year.

He’s still a great coach but he doesn’t have a pro at every position like he did in the past. He also doesn’t have the best coaching staff anymore. Michigan out schemed Bama all game.

If being "just another team" means winning SEC championships and frequently getting into the (now expanded) playoffs then sign me up.
