Why is it that every time a bad call is made that drastically effects the outcome of a game most people just say
quote:

They shouldn't have been in that situation

Just because one team makes a bad play earlier or just because the teams are evenly matched how does that automatically give the refs an excuse to make bad calls?

A bad call is a bad call is a bad call and it sucks when if affects the outcome of a game. I understand why people say but I don't understand why it is the go to response about bad officiating

I agree, but if you're a much better team than your opponent, you shouldn't put yourself at the mercy of the refs.

Bad calls happen due to human error. Just have to deal with it.

Or...they can't complain about the bad call because they had a chance to win it later when they got the ball back or whatever.

Yeah, maybe their best chance was on the series/play when the bad call occurred.

Worst call in the game last night was the roughing the QB against Texas.

Have you ever officiated a game. Have you every had to make split second calls during a close game? Human error is part of the game...for the officials as well as for the players.

A) Yes (Rugby)
B) I understand that. I am not complaining about bad calls being made, I am ranting about the "go-to" response that people have about it. I just wish people would admit that it was a crap call over trying to say it is the teams fault.

Agreed but incompetancy shouldn't be. Neither should favoritism and don't be naive enough to say it doesn't happen.

I agree with that statement, but I don't think a loss can be blamed on one bad call when one considers the big picture of a complete game.

Again, have you ever officiated?

Human error is different than incompetency.

I'm not naive. I never said favortism doesn't occur, but in officiating, expecially high level game such as the NCAA, it's an extreme rarity.
