Attending NASCAR/Truck Qualifying - Bristol

I was interested in taking my daughter to the Xfinity race in Bristol on March 16th but then realized they are not racing that weekend . Instead of the race, there is Cup and Truck qual. and a truck race at night. The truck race is too late for us so I was thinking about going to the qual. events. I have never been to a race before so not sure what to expect at the qual events. Is it worth it?
We would be driving up from Atlanta and staying in Asheville with a buddy of mine so wanted to make sure the drive up was going to be worth it.
Thanks for any insight!

One of the best races I ever saw in person was a truck race at Bristol. (FWIW the best was the Kyle and Kyle show at Chicago in 2018....)
But if you're just going to qualifying and driving from Atlanta, I'd say skip it.

Not a big NASCAR fan but I’ve always enjoyed going when near. I will never go back to Bristol. Most races are people drinking and having a good time, Bristol was way too many angry drunks acting like they’ve never been out in public before. Saw a guy get stabbed and I spent 30 minutes trying to find security or someone to help. Before the race security was everywhere, after the race you are on your own. Take her to another race.
