I really don't understand being so frugal with contracts then signing a risky player to a 10 year contract while letting your ace go in free agency.

I watched every pitch of the day game, and when Weiss kept him in after Dubon stole second instead of going with a lefty, I was like no! And of course he K'd to end the game.

Signing Riley to a big contract did not seem like much of a risk when he was offered it.
