When Sims came in the game I think everybody knew what was gonna happen besides Snitker. Also I don’t like Dansby bunting in that situation because it isn’t like a good hitter is behind him.

Yeah bunting with Flaherty on deck is pretty silly. Not been a good homestand at all for Snit. I have been pretty reserved in my criticism of him but these last 4 games have been abysmal in game managaing.

To be fair to Snit there aren’t a lot of good options down there. Sims, Moylan and Freeman are not major league relievers.

Evan Phillips was added to the 40 man. Should be given a chance, but it doesnt matter. Whoever we bring up will be sat at the end of the bench, and be used at the worst times, and not be given enough opportunity to pitch regulary(Gohara/Fried).
Another guy on the 40 man is Adam McCreery, who is pitching pretty descent in AA(walks are the problem).
Besides that, its the crappy options on the 40 man like Jason Hursh, Chase Whitley, and Matt Wisler.

It's games like this why people question Snitker's ability to manage in a postseason game. We're in first place and every game matters, especially on nights like tonight where the Phillies and Nats both lose. We have to take advantage of these teams (even though the Reds are on fire), and he runs Lucas Sims out there against their best bats.
I think we're like 1-8 in extra inning games this season. That should tell you all you need to know. Hopefully we can work quit and walk it off.

The bullpen has to be upgraded. Biddle has been very good this year but this group just isn’t deep at all.
Shouldn’t cost much in prospect capital to bring in major league arms that are better than the current back end.
