Glad to see Luetge sent down. He’s struggled since he’s been called back up.

This is what is so deflating. Edler threw the best game of his life yesterday... and our offense did jack shite to help him, while the bullpen actively sabotaged him.

PROBABLE: JARED SHUSTER (L)PROBABLE: JAMES KAPRIELIAN (R)

Look at this matchup for today. While Schuster has been pretty good in has last couple of starts, There is no telling what bullpen chump is going to blow up today or if we can score more than 2 runs. We got to break out of this and go on about a 10 game win streak

I’m sure we’ll win today, but this team sort of sucks right now, and as Broski noted, is not a serious WS contender as constructed.

I agree with both of you wholeheartedly. I think we are (besides Shawver-Smith) going to have to rush up some more arms from the minors

Amazing that the AAA's can bring an infielder in from the bullpen to throw three perfect innings against this all world Braves lineup, yet every time our bullpen gate swings open, a very highly touted reliever is about to come in and blow the game.

Its not really that surprising at all. Think of every team that has invested a ton in the bullpen... even if the bullpen is good it underperforms expectations. A few years ago the Yankees in theory should only have needed starters to get through 4 or 5 innings and the game was over... thats obviously not how it worked out.

The Rockies invested heavily in the bullpen a few years ago, I think only Ottavino had an ERA in the 3s but granted Coors gonna Coors.

The Dodgers a year or two ago, still a good pen but not anywhere near what you expected out of it.

Now we haven't given guys huge deals and/or traded very many top prospects for bullpen arms, but we've certainly sacrificed some organizational depth to have a good bullpen and its been a dumpster fire.
