No firm timetable for Arcia yet. The Braves will know more when he's re-evaluated in approximately 10-14 days. Castellanos spent 16 days on the IL with a similar microfracture in 2021. But his injury was to his top hand. Arcia is dealing w/ his bottom hand.

As long as Grissom isn't drowning out there, I'd rather they let Arcia take his time coming back from this. Wrist injuries tend to really limit the power in someone's bat if they come back too fast or try and play through it. Freddie in 2017 and Acuna in 2020 immediately come to mind.

Fangraph's had an article today breaking down all of Acuna's metrics and they pointed out how he is one of the worst RF's in terms of field coverage.

Totally agree.

Wrists are everything for a hitter. They need to be right.

In that Fangraphs article, they had something about Acuna hitting too many ground balls.

Well...

That was like the one Riley hit in St. Louis.

It wasn't always pretty, but Charlie gave us 6 innings of 3 run ball. I'll take that from him at this point in his career.

That'll play for Chuck if he can do that all season

Did Snit get run earlier?

So it qualifies as a “quality start”. Sure didn’t feel like one.

Acuna's are always screamers off the bat.

To be fair, Grissom didn't help him any.

He booted one. It's not like he was responsible for all of Charlie's runs.

Charlie isn't missing as many bats as he used to. That was usually the one thing that kept him from getting completely demolished last year. This year it seems like he's gotten lucky against some really hard contact and has managed to keep the ball in the yard so far. It doesn't feel sustainable unless he starts getting more swings and misses, though.

Acuna is a freak. We are witnessing the best lead off batter in baseball

Agreed that Charlie hasn’t looked good but Grissom was pretty bad. An average MLB SS makes 3 plays that Grissom did not.

The grounder Witt beat out, the double play play ball, and the grounder up the middle.

That doesn’t help and is not sustainable.

You talking about the high chopper?

I've said from the beginning that Grissom isn't a SS, but that definitely wasn't his fault.

That was Morton's fault, he straight up missed the ball. It's why they charged him with the error.
