Riley has watched multiple pitches that were piped down the middle of the plate for strike three in this series. He is obviously not ‘protecting the plate’. He has to change his approach, if he is working one at all, with two strikes and start battling, and he just isn’t doing it. He is guessing with two strikes, and that is not a good strategy.

Not going to overreact one way or the other based on Sale's first couple of starts, but I can't stress enough how important it is for this team that he can at least be 70% of the pitcher he used to be this season.
