I wish but no. They would play a double header and if needed play that game Thursday

Would not be disappointed in the slightest if it’s the last time I see Odorizzi pitch for the Braves

#Braves and Odorizzi will face Marlins rookie lefty Braxton Garrett on Tuesday. Garrett, 25, from Florence, Ala., has a 3.56 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 83 1/3 innings. In an Aug. 14 start at Atlanta, he pitched 6 scoreless innings of 5-hit ball and got no decision in 3-1 ATL win.

We’re really gonna have to pitch Max on Wednesday for the division huh? Or celebrate after a nats win

Yep. I would be really surprised if the mets played today the weather up here is terrible. They would be smart to see what the braves do while resting their bullpen.

If the Braves lose today, and the Mets don’t play today, the Mets will go into Wednesday with life. Would be interesting to see how everyone plays it. Braves could be starting game 3 at same time Mets are starting Game 1 on Wednesday in that scenario. I’m sure the Mets would save Degrom and Scherzer for games 2 and 3 if needed regardless and not use them at all of course if it’s over before then.

Just need Odorizzi to dig deep for one quality start and end this tonight.

Kind of wild how the tone has changed a bit here when we will wrap it up, not a doubt in my mind.

Yeah last night seemed kind of predictable. Natural to start thinking about some “what ifs” anytime you are going into last 2 games of the season not yet clinched though. The unfavorable pitching matchup on paper tonight adds a little to that. I think the Braves bats finish this tonight though.

I’m not worried yet. This will be, in essence, a bullpen game. Odorizzi will hopefully make it through their lineup once unscathed.

I think it's mostly because of where we are in our rotation. Odorizzi doesn't inspire much confidence.

Yeah, basically zero chance they play today. Wonder if they’re willing to move the game to Washington like they asked the braves to?
