Everyone was bullish on Heyward. I don't believe he was ever the same hitter after he got hit in the face.

I didn't think he was as bullish on Heyward as he is Mike, but I could definitely be off-base.

Chipper says every young Brave has superstar potential.

As a big Braves fan, you should know that.

As for Dansby, don't brag about the battery making us a big payroll contender and then come out and say Dansby would've taken a discount.

We already are a big payroll contender. This is a top 7ish payroll team and we are already in the luxury tax, even without signing Dansby. If you want us to be the Mets and Dodgers, well, we all know the old saying: You can wish in one hand and shite in the other and see which one fills up faster. That just isn't going to happen unless some venture capital guy buys the team from LM, but then you worry about potential meddlesome ownership. That's the one really nice thing about being owned by LM; they stay out of AA's way and let him do his job.

Maybe, but I think it had more to do with opposing teams realizing after his rookie year that Heyward could not layoff any and every breaking ball, so they pitched him accordingly with Heyward never making the adjustment.

Now that I think about, Ian Anderson may be the pitching version of J-Hey.

Barely and being in the lux tax doesn't mean you're losing money.

Fact of the matter is, if we want to keep up in the NL East, we'll have to be a lux tax team.

It is absolutely the #1 reason why where we are where we're at at in terms of payroll.

To say otherwise is being disingenuous.

Until someone takes the division from us, we are the favorites going in and the fans need to act like it.

As usual, you misread the point and created a strawman.

Sick platitude, my guy.

So what happens if we lose the NL East this year, then what will you say?

Chipper was one of Heywards biggest fans that first spring. He was gushing over him and the sound the ball made off his bat. Here’s an article comparing him to Javon Kearse and Fred McGriff combined.

What exactly is that going to change? Braves fans have shown since the Cobb move they will show up and be behind the team. Talk on a message board however, means absolutely nothing to the team being better.

I can't argue that.

This place moreso than most I browse seem to be more fatalistic towards the team than what is normal. Definitely an outlier

I would of liked to have seen how he would of progressed as a hitter if he had never got hit in the face that fateful day in Queens.

More reason to hate the Mets.

So you think people bringing up concerns is fatalistic?

Were you fatalistic when you said at the beginning of the offseason that we better re-sign Dansby?

This place harps and blows little things out of proportion much more than most other venues, so yes, that is being fatalistic. And you are one of the prime offenders. Every molehill is a mountain.

Is the team perfect? No. No team is. But we have far less flaws than far most of the League.

LOL. Sure thing, Gatekeeper.

At least I back my shite up and approach topics with nuance.

You, meanwhile, add nothing of substance to this board. But thanks for admitting that you were being fatalistic too.

I hope you're right, but as usual, you are nothing but empty platitudes. You really have no originality, you even copied the "my guy" from my response.

I really do worry you may kill yourself if they get a wild card spot.

Got you worked up, didn't I?

You bitch about any and everything during the season and carry more drama than a teenage girl.

But carry on.
