So much for all the hurting based on Covid last year. How many we’re lamenting budget problems at this last year?

The real change is that now it seems like every coach is available… before if you were at a blue blood, you’d be able to have your pick of the non bluebloods around you when you needed a coach, but you would never think you could get the coach at another one. Guys didn’t want to leave their dream jobs.

(And it’s not like Riley or Kelly were on any hot seats)

They're banking on future success to recoup what they lost... Like LSU in $54 million thus past year. LSU is pulling a Hail Mary that if it can't beat Saban will be buried in debt with Kelly's $15 mil a year contract.

It appears to be monopoly money now, the salaries, facilities, etc. There are a lot of wealthy people out there willing to give a lot of money to their school for sports success. Seems a little much when there are more needed things to spend that kind of money on, but it is what it is.

TV contracts are going up and he isn't getting 15/yr. LSU will be just fine, thanks for your concern.

Great point and I don’t think it can be said enough. It’s open season now.
