Joe Delaney. Went into the water despite not being able to swim to try to save three kids and perished along with two of the kids.

Age 26 and reigning Vezina Award winner (NHL top goaltender). First non-North American to win the award, I think.

Died in a single car crash after leaving a team party (drunk) in 1986.

not sure about him but that's how Marquise Hill died, former LSU Tiger and New England Patriot. Saved a girl's life who was drowning after falling off a jet ski but drowned, himself, in the process

Tavaras was 22 and Fernandez was 24; regardless of their BAC that's pretty damn young and refuse to believe they were close to their "prime". These dudes were barely scratching the surface.

Drunk driving is awful i'm not promoting it but you're arrogant if you believe they should be shunned from this list yet you don't bring up one of the athletes in the OP that died of a cocaine overdose.
