Huh?
I'm not happy Tulane's '09 class is only ranked #72...just like I'm not happy LSU was 7-5 this season.

Sidis, great thread!
This past season was so close to being special. A great game (statistically) against Alabama and a squeaker versus ECU is all you need to show our potential. Sure, all the injuries are a part of the game, but we would have been bowling if we could have stayed healthy. Hopefully the ball rolls in our favor next year!
The increase in overall team speed is a huge plus. I'm optimistic about our future!

It's likely that someone complained.
The official reasoning was provided on the Help Board - Why was Sidis's Tulane Recruiting Thread moved to MSB? (12/30/08)
I will continue to update the thread throughout the '09 recruiting season.
Unfortunately, those interested in LA/Tulane recruiting will have to join us on the MSB Board.
Again, thanks for the interest.

In lieu of recruitment news, here's some additional info on Coach Toledo's Louisiana blue chip recruiting efforts and commits:

LA TECH looks to be pulling in the better class of the two. I would notch LA TECH to the number 2 spot in the state. Especially if Tech lands Rufus Porter and Josh Johns.

As far as this class or overall program? As far as programs are concerned - Until Tulane loses to a state school not named LSU (They have never), they should remain as the number two program in the state.

I agree - tickets are never a problem, especially at the Dome.
If you know a typically apathetic Tulane student, I'm sure he/she would hand over their season tickets for almost nothing. Of course, I hope that's impossible a few years for now.
They should move to Tad Gormley full time. The Superdome is just way too big for that program. What does Tulane think; they're the Saints? They shouldn't even be allowed on the same playing surface...

Your "[e]specially if..." argument as to recruiting really goes both ways.
Tulane is also in the running for Kenny Cain, Rufus Porter and/or Josh Johns, etc. LINK
As has been posted numerous times on TD, until Tulane fails to dominate La. Tech, ULM or ULL -
Tulane will remain #2 team in the state.
The Facts:
- In the last 10 seasons, Tulane and La. Tech share winning percentages of 42% and 46%, respectively. Ugh.
- In that span, Tulane has had an undefeated season and 2 winning bowl appearances ('98 v. BYU; '02 v. Hawaii).
- In that span, La. Tech's best season was an 8-3 effort in '99. La. Tech has split their 2 bowl appearances ('01 v. Clemson; '08 v. N. Illinois).
- All-time, Tulane has a bowl record of: 4-6.
- All-time, La. Tech has a bowl record of: 2-2-1.
- All-time, Tulane is 8-0 v. La. Tech*...the most recent win, a 63-30 blow-out in 1998.
- Of course, we won't even get into academics...
* Tulane is 2-0 v. ULM and 20-4 v. ULL (ULL's last win was in 1995, Tulane has won the last 4 games)
