The crowd broke the record with 30 seconds left in the game. They reached a peak of 137.5 decibels...a jet engine is 140 decibels.

It's going to be fun when Denver goes into Arrowhead.

TS measures its volume on the Richter scale, and we don't need some contrived excuse to get loud.

Yeah I'm sure all those empty seats Saturday made a lot of noise

Probably louder than arrowhead on a day when they aren't trying to win a circle jerk contest

When they say a jet engine is 140 decibels, from what distance are they measuring that?

Apparently you do.

But keep living off of old reputation.

Not on my list of must do's.

My point is, the OPs claim is stupid because these contrived, "lets break the record" displays of jackassery don't mean anything.

I've never trusted the"jet engine" comparison. Driving by a truck with your window down when it is accelerating feels louder than any stadium I have been in, and I imagine a jet engine would be excruciating.

These "records" are stupid

And we both know the Richter scale story is more bs than truth. You sound like a typical rantatd.

KC fans are easily among the nfl's best and are it's unquestioned tailgate kings.

As evidenced by this thread.

LSU cares about this sound reputation...and would do anything to set the record...if they could.

Operative word.

Arrowhead is a hell of stadium...always has been. But college only fans rarely pay attention.

This record is so lame. They told everyone to get loud to break a record. It didn't happen naturally during the game.

On your first point, all these loudest stadium reputations are entirely built on old football lore and a certain degree of truth and a certain degree of mythology. To attempt to quantify this shite in some contrived spectacle is beyond lame.

To your second point, I have heard nothing but good things.
