Yeah FSU looked very impressive last night, but LSU beat a top 20 team

True, but FSU played a top 20 D that returned 9 starters (?). That's pretty legit.

I think Florida fell too far. They still have a nasty defense, and offenses tend to gel better as the season goes on.

Agreed. Hearing the pundits suck off Louisville is annoying, but I think it has more to do with the teddy for heisman hype because their schedule is putrid.

That is a huge problem...you would agree.

Surprised LSU jumped FSU honestly

Eh, LSU played very well against a top 20 team. LSU's biggest glaring weakness has been an anemic offense and the offense was pretty outstanding against a top 20 defense nationally year in and year out. Defense is never an issue for LSU. Florida State was outstanding, but LSU did it against a top 20 team. Ranking are pretty irrelevant at this point.

I'd rather not be #1

Why the frick not? Seriously.....if you are #1 you can lose a game and probably not even fall out of the top 5 which means you still have a GREAT shot at the BCSNCG.

I'm not upset that much with it, TBH. Now if they played Toledo like they did BG last year, then dropping would have easily been justified.

And they still won by 25 points. If you can shite the bed offensively and still dominate a football game (and mind you VT is no cupcake), then I don't see any reason for them to lose the #1 spot.

Anyone who watched the UF-Toledo game Saturday knows Toledo never threatened UF like Bowling Green did.

I am not normally negative. But our offense, namely the line, was pathetic.

I'm sure the VT fans surrounding me at the game were sick of me because I was complaining like Bama was losing the game (and because I was pretty intoxicated).

Ohio State still getting a first place vote is hilarious

I just don't want to believe that LSU is that good just yet.

I hate to get my aspirations too high

Ohio State getting a first place vote after their game is a joke. They're a top 5 team based on talent but it didn't show on Saturday and they shouldn't be getting 1st place votes at this point in the season.

Alabama is the exception to the rule because they have earned the benefit of the doubt.

But generally, voters will reward a team that wins 55-31 a lot more than a team that won 17-0 but their opponent wouldn't have scored if they played 12 quarters.

Case in point: 2012 West Virginia and every Oregon team

Do you think Luke Fickell still has a job after this season? I didn't watch the game, but I saw where they kept pointing the camera at Luke. Judging by the scoreboard, I didn't think the attention was for a good reason.

8 Louisville 1-0 1,073 9
9 LSU 1-0 971 12
10 Florida State 1-0 953 11

not sure how anyone watched this weekend and thought A&M should be ranked ahead of 8,9, or 10. also not sure how OSU still gets a first place vote. Any vote not for Bama should have gone to Clemson after this weekend.

Unless the defense absolutely collapses, I don't see why he wouldn't. I was at the game Saturday, so I have no idea what was happening on the telecast, but I was personally happy with defense considering the injuries/suspensions.
