Because common sense tells me it's stupid for the commissioner to lose his 40 million dollar job over one punch he didn't throw. It's a great job.

It's great for him.

I asked YOU why the frick do YOU care?

ETA: he mashes tens of millions a year. I'm sure he will be fine agree being NFL commish, regardless if it's "unfair"

All the new rules won't change if Goodell is booted. The 32 owners are a much greater influence.

It's hilarious that the Social Darwinist corporate apologist had to throw out the "it's not fair!" card.

I think I care because I hate it when someone gets dragged into someone else crap... It's just not right

In the end Roger's punishment is 10x more...and again, he tossed ZERO punches..

Does that seem correct to you?

Goodell dragged himself into this on his own. The cover up is a problem. The owners may not have a problem with it, but Goodell has lost any good faith he had with the NFLPA, and that will be his downfall IMO.

Well, when you are judge, jury, and executioner, you may wind up being dragged into people's crap. He lied to the public, he's not in trouble for what Ray Rice did, he is in trouble for how he handled it. I worked with a guy who got caught hitting his wife, my place of employment fired him. Not all places are like that obviously. A 2 game suspension and lying about seeing a video was too much imo.

Does it seem correct to you that he should keep his 44 million dollar a year job after showing judgment this poor? Most would argue he's had more than enough time in that position. He's not king or pope. It's not a lifetime position. There have to be certain ways a person can lose their job and gross incompetence and lying are two of them.

I think it way pre-mature to make these accusations

I am guessing I have the benefit of not watching the news

Again, 100% of the time, the media rushes to judgement getting the public all lathered up...and then slowly leak the truth and then everyone fades off into the sunset will the destruction of lives is left behind.

If I was commissioner, I would be ticked Ray Rice and his actions some how navigated their way into my future and public perception. It's BS

the player is accountable and the team he plays for is accountable.

The commissioner should only be involve in actual football type issues. This is a criminal type deal where no charges have been pressed.

Ray Rice is a Raven problem right?

They went along with the 2 game deal and then immediately terminated his contract when all hell broke lose.

Why is the commissioner even involved in this BS?

It's easy.. Don't bullshite around, no problems.

He has admitted to messing up on this already, and now it is even getting worse than his admission.. so I truly do not understand why you care so much to defend this arrogant dude.

The commissioner should not be such a hypocrite in his just punishment.. where one time he is going out of his way to act to a point of stretching the facts, then another time, not doing much of anything to investigate..

Ok?

Is this really what you are going with? Ray Rice isn't the commissioner of the NFL

What does Ray Rice have to do with his incompetence or lying to the public?

One deals with one player on a personal level off the field

the other involves the integrity of the game and player safety (on the field). Heck yeah he had to crack heads over that deal.

you can not be serious
