You actually can do something similar to this.

You can take a coax cable. Plug one end into the TV and then place the other end on some metal such as the screw for your light switch.

Then go to your TV put the input on cable or antenna settings and do a search for cable channels. It actually will work as an antenna for you. I can catch OTA channels this way in a pinch.
