I’ve never bought into the whole “one guy can ruin a locker room” thing
And even if a guy could, it would be a guy with a shite ton of guaranteed money that you can't easily get rid of.

Right, a dude on a minimum deal who we can cut with no worries at the first sight of doing something shitty is risk free.

AB can't possibly frick with the locker room that Brees/Payton have worked to strengthen for over a decade now, because he'd be gone before he could even put the slightest dent in it.

Saints have a pretty tight-knit locker room. They might tolerate his bullshite if he comes in and produces like an All-Pro WR immediately, otherwise he'll get tossed right back into the line at the soup kitchen.
No risk

The beauty of this move would be playoff salaries are paid out of pooled league money, so the Saints aren’t on the hook for much of anything, meanwhile they’re forcing Goodell’s hand on having to deal with AB’s investigation.

That's amazing...and just another reason why Goodell sure as shite won't allow AB to play because he can.

He's gonna suspend Payton for signing AB and making Roger have to deal with this mess.

what he's saying is that there would be no long lasting effect after they cut him if he does indeed misbehave. They'd just be back to where they are today
And what I'm saying is there is no guarantee he goes off at a time that allows them to cut him and it not be an issue. Like on game day, in the middle of the game, the morning of the super bowl, the last drive of the game...

Antonio Brown works out with the Saints

It’s now 2:00 central time and the Saints know the news is out, they have to either have passed or talking to the NFL league office about what happens if they sign him right?

Considering Payton just had a press conference, said they also worked out 6 other WRs today, that no signing was imminent, and that if they did want to sign AB they would need clarification from the league first...

What type of “Last BoyScout” scenario are you imagining?

I like the bit about how they’re “doing their due diligence”. He’s being investigated for sexual assault and his Twitter account has a pinned tweet that says “No more white women 2020”. I think I just did their due diligence for them.

I think their “due diligence” is about what type of football shape he is in not his social media presence.

I love how everyone wants an exact prediction of what stupid shite AB might pull without which they don't think it could be an issue. As I've said several times, neither I, nor you, nor the saints could predict his erratic behavior. Maybe, at a crucial point in the game, he will get on all fours and piss on the NFL logo to prove a point. More stable players have done the same.
