It is supposed to go to the player with the better statistical season.

Then Robinson still wins

Davis has 5 times as many blocks. Better FG%. And a better record.

Good, give him DPOY

Both teams could be 1 seeds, so it won't make much of a difference

He went 10 of 11 from the floor today without an alley-oop. He's capable of that play. Don't see how you fault him for playing like a Center though. That's a stupid argument.

I would rather have Davis on my team and IMO he is the better player.

That said, I hope T Rob wins just so UK fans will be pissed.

Meh. Robinson is just as deserving so I don't anybody that will be pissed per se. Davis has likely locked up DPOY and FPOY so it's not like he's going home empty handed.

Not to mention the fact i want a national championship much more than for Davis to win player of the year.

Ok. PPG and REBS are the ones everybody looks at.

Rupp's Rafters and their legion of idiots don't count as fans. At least not rational ones.

Not when you are setting block records like Davis is.

I'd love to see these two go at it in the tournament. I'd also like to see Sully matchup with them.

I would vote for Davis. His defensive impact is insane. He is a more valuable player than Robinson when you consider both sides of the ball.

I think the voters are starting to lean to Davis. Either are very deserving.

The funny thing is they've already went at it once this season but the NPOY hype was pretty much non-existent for both when they did. Robinson outrebounded Davis but Davis had the better all around game.

Yeah, plus both teams are different now. The freshmen for UK are better now, and Kansas is alot better with Taylor and Withey playing better recently. Would be a great game in the Final Four possibly

please do not make the argument that davis is more valuable to kentucky than Trob is to kansas. please don't.

lol, and why is that Kansas fan?

Everything Kentucky does defensively is centered around Davis. They can overplay, deny passing lanes on ball reversal, and do basically anything they want to do defensively because they know they have Spiderman back there. This pressure on defense leads to turnovers and fast break points. Pick and rolls with Davis are also insanely effective because it's hard to hedge very much without Davis going for the oop. And the helpside defender can't help on Davis because the lob will just be a jump ball between Davis and that defender. The best way to defend that play is by putting a body on Davis while he is rolling, which opens up the drive for Kentucky's guards.

Davis is just so quick and athletic. He is insanely valuable on both ends of the floor. Now, Thomas has had a tougher conference schedule and is an outstanding player as well. Either of them would be fine choices for player of the year. But to act like there is no argument for Davis being more valuable is simply stupid.

because kansas fricking sucks without TRob. as in not good at all. have you looked at this team's bench? it's pathetic. 2 walk ons already get really meaningful minutes (6th and 8th man). did you see the last 6 minutes of the first half today without robinson? it's pathetic. he elevates a bubble team into a 1 seed. davis elevates a top 10-15 team into the best team in the country.

the argument is stupid for a number of reasons. mainly because the reason TRob is more valuable is because the rest of our bigs (sans withey) and our bench are so inadequate. no one should be rewarded or penalized for that and it shouldnt be a factor, but i think it is a little bit.
