Woj just said on ESPN that Boston will talk to Nola soon regarding a trade, if they haven't in last hour. Celtics will let Pels know: "We are going to be aggressive. We're going to be able to give you everything you want for Anthony Davis. Hold off before the trade deadline.
We'll see, but for now, I'd stick with that this is Boston trying to push NO out of a panic deal with LA.

I think its Boston just making sure NOLA doesnt make a move before the deadline

It tells me Ainge is going to make a strong offer.
If Boston doesn't want to pay the price for AD, they'd likely be better off allowing their traditional rival to gut their team to get an extra few months of AD.
Not securing AD (for at least a year) could also prompt kyrie to dip. If Boston tells us to hold off and then lowballs us this summer, or doesn't put together a serious package because he's going to LA anyway then this move just makes their traditional rival much stronger for much cheaper.

quote:we will see. He simply does not want AD to get traded now imo. If rich paul and AD stay quiet for the next 5 months than there is less than a zero percent chance that hes anywhere other than Boston or NY and yall probably have Tatum or Porzingis and zion. But what if he goes full PG and has his camp start straight up telling teams to not trade for him because he wont resign? I think that legitimately takes NY out of the running and I think it potentially takes Tatum off the table.

I think there's pressure by AD's camp to get this done by the deadline, but I think he'll open up to other possible destinations once it's clear that the Lakers aren't the only team we're talking to.
shite anything can happen but I would be surprised if AD is the guy to go scorched earth and completely burn us when he doesn't have to. I've been surprised before

Dont really care what Davis wants. The Pels have already said we're doing this on our timeline.
AD bought himself a nice little 5-7 month break to hang out with his newborn.

And I agree with you. I would be surprised if he doesn't end up in either Boston or NY

Boston doesn't want NO to freak out, then get screwed by the Lakers in a trade. Why? Boston is in title range now. They don't need to contend with the loaded Lakers.
If they avoid that, it's nothing but a positive for them. Lakers don't gain, they get to offer on AD. Everybody wants AD, it's the price vs his long term commitment. The Celts can gauge that in the offseason.
Pushing this to the offseason doesn't hurt the Celts at all. They can't trade right now, so this is all about shutting down what's on the table.

Kyrie would have to be in any deal before the deadline
Lebron and rich Paul would be playing 4-d:
Trade ad to the Celtics
Kyrie doesn’t resign with New Orleans goes to LA
AD has some racist Boston stuff happen and doesn’t resign
Lakers ship in 2020/21

Since we're throwing out straight bullshite:
Pels tell AD to stay home
Pels tell Jrue to give 50% effort
Pels get number 1 pick, beating the current 3% odds iirc
Pels get Zion
Boston does the Tatum trade
Pels have Zion Tatum and Jrue with Niko re-upping.
