Anyone else laughing at the announcers sucking off these two coaches? On one hand you have one of the worse all time cheats in Kelvin Sampson, only to be outdone by the serial creeper Todd Golden. The national champion coach was on the verge of losing his job two weeks into the season but was winning so the story and allegations miraculously disappeared.

What? In retrospect what he was doing was child’s play compared to a lot of other coaches. He was just sloppy about it and got caught at a time when the NCAA still had some teeth.

Always funny when the commentators are complimentary of two coaches that have reached the national championship game, agreed OP

I mean, you could do a 2-minute hit piece on the coach for one of the teams right in the middle of the game like Dick did in the middle of the 2021 SEC Tournament title game, but quite honestly never seen anything like that done before or since.

How stupid do you have to be to believe too many text messages is all time cheating?

Probably so. But he got two schools on probation, Oklahoma and Indiana. It was the former that got him the show cause after getting hit with violations at the latter.

Does it offend me as a fan? Absolutely not. Sampson was just playing the same game every other major conf. HC was. But it is ridiculous and hypocritical to see the media fawn over HCs with they gleefully feigned indignation for prior bad acts.

As for Golden, I'm 100% convinced that story was brought to light by football power brokers angry that Florida's AD gave Billy Napier a vote of confidence. They were hoping to use Golden's alleged transgressions to get the AD fired...so a new AD would fire Napier.

Nov 7 - Reports that Stricklin gives Napier a vote of confidence...despite Florida being 4-4 coming off a loss to Georgia, ahead of a game vs. Texas.

Nov. 8 - Report published about Golden being the subject of a Title IX complaint.

As an aside, I bet Florida's AD is giving the DX sign to the boosters today that tried to organize the coup. Following that week in Nov, Florida finishes the season beating LSU, Ole Miss, and FSU, while Golden goes on to win the National Championship.

I could see that, but whatever the means that story needed to come to light, that's beyond disturbing. Unless you are saying you doubt the stories? Given the details I've heard I do not.

The Title IX investigation started in the summer. The Alligator, student news paper, published the accusers story. It wasn't a coup
