Nevermind that it's been known for years that he wanted to play for the Orioles or Nationals. That's his home and where he wants to go, plus the Nationals offer doesn't hurt them either.
If does that, that's obviously his right. But it's our right as fans to lose respect for guys who care more about money or playing close to home than they do winning. The Nationals and Orioles with both suck for the entire length of his contract, and he can compile a bunch of meaningless stats in a bunch of meaningless at-bats.

So if he goes to the Nats or O's, he' loses respect because he's going to a 'loser' where he's going to have a bunch of meaningless at-bats
So if he goes to the Yankees or Red Sox, he loses respect because he's just going to highest bidder.
And you wonder why I keep pointing out how its only the jilted braves fans that continue to damn him if he does, and damn him if he doesn't.
Its really becoming quite pathetic with you guys.
Won't be so meaningless if he goes to the Nats and they end up in 3rd place, won't it?.....

possibly...but there's also a draw to a team selling you as the future of the franchise.
You go to the Red Sox/Yankees you're probably going to win.
It'd be impressive if you went to a struggling team and in time led them to a championship. It's always possible and it's a sales angle that can always appeal to someone's ego. Well that and 180 million dollars.

No, I'd respect him for going to a winner where he'll still get paid. I would lose zero respect for him.

Why do you keep bringing up the Braves? They are irrelevant to this discussion.

I think what's clearly pathetic is your obsession with all things Braves. I almost feel sorry for you. It's embarrassing.

Dude, we're talking about a guy who wants a $200 million payday...hes going to get blasted in any situation, like A-Rod to the Rangers

If you havn't noticed, its a jilted Braves fan complex. Its worse than GCS/Stout in the OT. If he's so overrated and so not worth the money, why are Braves fans so obsessed with where Tex is going and how much he's going to get?
Posted on 12/21/08 at 9:21 pm to ToplessTenors4evuh
as a braves fan, i dont care where he goes, of course i would prefer al teams.... if the money was the same, i would expect him to go to a winner and not think he will be the building block for an o's franchise or the nats .... looking at history wasnt belle, javy, tejada, sosa, etc etc all building blocks for the o's .. yeah...

Because %90 of all Tex convos on this board are Braves fans talking about how overrated he is. Its so transparent.

That's much easier to do in basketball or football. One player rarely makes a difference in baseball.
And I'm not saying I will lose all respect for him if he goes to Baltimore or Washington, just a little. I would feel like he wouldn't be stepping up to a challenge. As far as the money goes, get what you can. I've never held it against anybody for getting as much as they can--just the retards who give it to them.

but didn't He go to the Rangers when they were winning? If Teix goes to Nats or O's its clearly will be for the money

You know thats not it. This shite has been going on ever since it became obvious that he wasnt going to stay in the ATL.

probably true, but egos don't take reason into account.
Plus if he goes there it a sign of them taking things seriously which could lead to better things.

He was there for all of 1 season. And played well. And I was all for trading him and getting back whatever we could. I have absolutely zero hard feelings towards his time in Atlanta. You are making things up that are not there. Are you saying I can't objectively talk about anybody who ever played for the Braves? That's fricking absurd.
