A coach can only do so much.

The sign of a good coach in my opinion is someone who can make a team better by coaching them.

I was distracted in the middle of typing that. I guess what I meant to say was a good coach makes teams better but they are limited by their personnel. He helps them reach their ceiling and that ceiling may be the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The Chiefs had losing seasons 5 of the 6 years before Andy Reid took over as head coach, including 2-14 the season before he took over.

Andy Reid has never had a losing season with the Chiefs in his 4 years there. 3 of those 4 seasons he went 11-5, 11-5, and 12-4. He turned the team around into a legitimate competitor.

He's a good coach and has gotten the most out of his team.

He's a good coach. He develops players, gets them to play as a team, and has a knack for finding talent.

Alex Smith is a game manager, his only game where he took over was against a poor saints defense. Otherwise, he shite s the bed repeatedly. Need more than a game manager when your running game and defense aren't world beaters.

Huh?

Did you see some of the play designs from that game? Dude was dialing them up. Terrific stuff (stole a Matt Canada play design, I might add).

It's not his fault his 10-year veteran QB can't throw the fly pattern over the correct shoulder, see streaking receivers down the middle of the field, not kill his receivers with bad throws.

Some awful QB play from Smith up until the final drive.

Better than meh. But never good enough to win a SB.

God damn Andy Reid is awful. Can't believe he wasn't able to communicate from the sideline for Smith to throw the fricking football

Yes, that's Tyreke Hill in a dead sprint with nobody running down the seam with him. Yes that's Alex Smith with a clean pocket and ends up scrambling to his right out of the pocket.

I used to love watching Andy's screen game with Jamaal Charles. If I were to pick and choose parts of offense from different coaches, I would get the screen game from Andy.

and even black qbs can be meh

McNabb was mediocre, Randall Cunningham was awesome and earlier, making the need for affirmative action treatment of McNabb bizarre

He's never had an above average QB. You really need one if you don't have a killer defense.

He is the NFL version of Dusty Baker...he will get you there, but as someone mentioned earlier, can't get you over the hump.
