Its not just the money, how many kids dream of being the #1 pick in the draft and getting to compete on the highest level. Sorry I just don't get it.

The rookie cap can't happen on this draft.

...He must not like millions of dollars...
**********************************************************
...he will get millions of dollars, regardless of NFL bargaining changes .. he just doesn't worship the almighty dollar as the end all-be-all. Ever heard the comment "just how many millions is enough ? " At a point - more millions is, well , embarrassing. He's gonna have an architecture degree from Stanford fer cryin' out loud.
Sounds like he's got a solid head on his shoulders to me. I salute him.

Its called a hyperbole, do you really think I'm saying the guy has a 80IQ. Your just excited cause this raises Jake Lockers draft status.

i dont care how happy it makes him, we NEED him in charlotte

The track record of redshirt sophomore and junior QBs coming out is really poor. Obviously it could be a disasterous choice, but it's not like it's without precedent

What's his moronic decision? He can go to the NFL anytime, but he can't go back and play for Stanford anytime. So he decides to stick around and play college football for another year, maybe win a Heisman, get his degree in architecture from Stanford, and the aforementioned coeds.
Then next year he gets his millions of dollars. Even if he Breeses his shoulder on the first play of the season.
By your logic, Barry Sanders and John Elway are fricking morons because they probably could've squeezed a few more years of paychecks out of the NFL, yet they chose to retire and enjoy their life in whatever fashion they want.

Where did I mention Locker anywhere? FWIW I don't think it raises his draft status at all because Carolina isn't going to take a QB unless Luck is there. I just commended Luck for his character for wanting to stick around, earn his degree, and be with his teammates for another year.

Barry you are the idiot here by ignorantly assuming Luck just cares about money. Luck will be far more successful in life than you will ever be, and he wants to cherish a senior year at Stanford and graduate with his class. He doesn't think of himself as a commodity like you do.

It was a joke.

Only those who consider "sports" the only thing that matters... When in fact, sports is a trivial "entertainment" .. How many kids dream of being a great architect. Maybe Andrew Luck has that dream .. and would like to pursue that. He'll have more $ than he can spend, and lots of opportunity to compete "at the highest level"

Man, I can't follow anything you are trying to say in this thread. It all turns out to be different than what you originally said.

Great point. Maybe he feels like staying another year will help him have a long term career

Bledsoe did pretty well. I can't think of the other guys who left as redshirt sophomores other than Vick, who also did pretty well despite his terrible work habits before prison.
Who else left as redshirt sophomores?

Todd Marinovich, Tommy Maddux
was mostly just thinking of third year QBs in general. Lots of busts in that group. Here's underlassmen 1st round picks per nfl.com. Pretty mixed bag
