How many of the starters are returning lineman?

3 of his 5 offensive linemen were seniors this year. He's also losing the starting 2 WRs, the FB Marecic, and the starting TE (although Stanford has a ton of good TEs).

Peyton Manning did the same thing, didn't he?

But he had already graduated as a Junior and wanted to come back for his senior season, even though he would have been the #1 pick to the Jets (who later traded it to the Rams).

People that call him an idiot can GTFO. Nobody is an idiot for sticking around and getting their degree. Money isn't the #1 priority for everybody.

Not surprising. He had said several times he was leaning towards staying. He must really like school to turn down that type of money

by a year to come back and get his degree and be BMOC for another year. Any of you guys wish you had had an extra year in college or wish you could go back now? And it won't suck banging hot coeds for another year.

does not compute, don't put the dude on a pedestal and then say he can go back so he can just frick a bunch of random girls.

Does anybody think he's going to have a bad year? Or that his stock will drop so far that hge'll never have a successful NFL career?

Injury. The kid has literally NOTHING to gain by staying.

Getting a degree is a lame arse excuse, he can do that anytime he wants.

He'll make more with a degree from Stanford (in the long run) than he'll make in NFL. Smart kid.

I'd like to think I'd do the same thing! Imagine being the stud starting QB at LSU at a Jr and coming back for your Sr year! Man I had too much fun at LSU as it was!!

Staying to get an education is the biggest sham i have ever heard off. He will be able to get his education WHENEVER and HOWEVER he wants.

I agree that he can but I think it is silly to call him a moron for wanting to return. Hell he is studying architecture so maybe he actually cares about that stuff and wants to learn. I'm mean we're not talking about a guy who wants to stay and get his degree in basket weaving...

Ah, I see the problem here. You think there's something wrong with secks with hot girls.

You're right. He could possibly be the first QB to be so horrifically injured that he goes from the #1 overall pick to not having an NFL career. Is the injury going to be an amputated arm or leg?

Maybe he has his eyes on the endorsement market and would like the extra year to really build his name recognition which could lead to much more lucrative marketing deals.

If he does stay there are reasons other than he doesn't like the idea of making $50 mil.

I've got 100 bucks that says he ends up more successful than you in life.

This kid and his family are pretty much what all of us wish our kids and others nowadays were like, yet we call them morons when they decide to stick around and get a college degree? We bitch about how greedy and money hungry people are, then when someone acts the opposite as that we bitch about that too.

No way. Unless he is a complete flop in the NFL and a top 10 architect in the world.

But I don't knock him.

You can never get your college years back. Its never the same. And he has a real chance to further cement his name as one of the best to ever put on the Stanford uniform.

The dude said in the long run he'll make more with his stanford degree than in the NFL. While possible its HIGHLY HIGHLY unlikely.

Would that be as stupid as say, calling a kid that goes to Stanford a fricking moron?

Pat Forde put it well, "The only person Andrew Luck has to make happy is himself, and we just learned what makes him happy. It's not money. I respect his decision."

As long as Harbaugh is gone, I am fine with this decision.

Look if I were him then I would most probably be gone, but I understand wanting to stay. I could only imagine how awesome it woould be to be the star QB of a great CFB team. Well I guess it would be the exact opposite as how JJ is treated here...

I meant he made a moronic decision, its not like i think the guy shits his pants and has to wear his helmet all the time.
