Laziness can be fixed with coaching. His size and speed cannot be coached. He is 1 in a million.

You just don't pass on a guy like Clowney IMO.

If Clowney doesn't have a work ethic right now, what makes you think he'll suddenly get one in the NFL?

Im going to need really good evidence of this to pass on his talent. I just think he's waiting for the NFL.

Just remember, even if the Jags beat the Texans today the Jags will still be in position to get the #1 pick.

The Jags are going to win more games, though. Our defense is legit.

He is not THAT good. Everybody was saying the same thing about the last #1 pick the Texans had. Whatever happened to him????

He's one example. I can give examples of guys who performed better after pay day. How about Jason Pierre-Paul? Didn't even start for USF. Probably didn't question his work ethic because no one even knew anything about him.

Yes it does.

Ask Jamarcus how motivating $$$$ was for his lazy arse.

Wouldn't touch Clowney.

Well to be fair Mario Williams was the lowest risk. Who else could they have got? Bush wouldn't have been effective considering the Texans had RB's and were a system that doesn't need a super talent RB. Vince Young and Leinart never performed to their draft position. I'd say the Texans made out well comparatively speaking.

On the Raiders. QB's are clearly more difficult to project, and he had one GOOD season, not great, but good season that vaulted his draft stock. Clowney has been on the radar for 3 years now and defensive ends are not the risk QB's are.

Would be a waste to draft based on need. No QB's that fit the bill in this class and you run the chance of getting a guy that never contributes to your team in anyway. I would wait another year. You might even be able to snag a QB on a roster right now at some point. QB's are too hard to project. I think Clowney at the least will play multiple years in the NFL as rotational guy, QB's could completely flop far easier.

Clowney or Mathews. I agree wait on a qb. There will be good ones at the top of the 2nd round. Mett or Carr possibly

this, beef up the lines first then get a qb in 2nd or 3rd. Hopefully Murray will fall to the third now that he has a the knee injury

Or a diffferent OT. I'm going to wait until the combine. Idk what grade Matthews will get, and Im not sure what other OTs are out there presently, but yes solidifying both lines would be grand. Maybe trade Andre for another 1st rounder and get Clowney 1st and then get a OL with the other 1st rounder. Trade Andre to put him in a winning position of course, not just to benefit from his value.

He's costing himself money by not having a work ethic.

You would think that the potential to earn MORE would light a fire under him.

Like I said, I'm going to need good evidence of his lack of work ethic aside from the ESPN garbage. He could be waiting it out to get his pay day, and thats certainly not a completely bad decision.

Possibly, but he's in the same situation as Clowney. He has the things you can't coach.. huge arm, tall, etc.
