Ah, I forget TD can see from a grainy cell phone video when the ball left his hand and when the clock hit zero. Because the horn is irrelevant according to the rule book.

If you play around with pause/play you can find a frame where the ball is clearly out of his hand and you haven't yet heard the buzzer.

Seriously though. This happened to us in 8th grade basketball also.
We were down by two points with the other team shooting one more free throw. They miss the free throw and my friend Cory grabs the ball and literally throws it full court (rim to rim) and banks it in off the backboard.
The refs screwed us over by counting the basket but only as a two pointer saying some shite about how he was clearly trying to pass it or something. Parents were literally about to come out of the stands
We went into overtime and outscored them 12-0 to win by that many.

It’s 8th grade basketball. No, everyone shouldn’t win a trophy type thing, but let the kid have his moment and let it count. He may never again be in that type of situation. Big moral booster.

I know dude. Like I said, people were furious and parents were getting very rowdy in the stands
