It would help if he stayed in shape. All his muscles turned to goo. Now he's rocking the man boobs and beer belly.

Yes, long well known he lied about his age as a youngster and even the juice can't help you at a certain age. And yes he's absolutely a juicer, just good enough at it not to get caught.

I have no idea if he juiced or not but his drop off in production was actually fairly predictable

He was a guy moving up in his 30s who had suffered several foot injuries

Idk how far his production would have fallen without the foot injuries but those really, really hurt him and he has said that himself

Also the Cardinals absolutely tried to sign him to a $200 million deal, thankfully for us the Angels rescued us

Personally I think our front office knew it was gonna be a stupid contract to sign him to but offered it anyways in part to keep the fans from being incredibly pissed and due to his historical significance in the organization

probably hard to stay super motivated with all of that guaranteed money rolling in.

I think he wanted to stay. But only if the STL was the highest bidder. When the Angels came in and blew their offer away he was gone. He was way underpaid during his prime years, so I figured that would only harden his stance when he was up. I still look forward to the day he puts on that red jacket in the Cardinals HOF.

I was at an Angels game last week. Pujols leads off with a single. two base hits later he is at 3rd (did not score on the base hit from second because he is too slow or hurt). then they hit a fly ball to the outfield that any major league player should score on and he does not tag up and score. So two hits and what should have been a sac fly and they got no runs. He is a serious liability unless he hits a home run.

Maybe, maybe not.

I think it was a lot of fan service. It was clear that Pujols was on a steep steep decline, his numbers had gone down progressively every year when leading up to 2011. He was still an elite player, but was already on a decline.

The Cardinals fans were for the most part furious when Pujols left, they were too in love with what he had done, rather than what the future held. Hindsight makes them feel better, but they were irate at the time, and not offering Pujols would have made that even worse.

Unfortunate for this cubs fan.
I'm cool with the World Series.
