After watching Skanski be ejected, how did Reuben Foster never get called?

Reuben only knew how to spear. Now, Bama fans would say “that ain’t targeting! You gots to hit their head or neck area!!!”
That wasn’t right, as using your own crown is always targeting

There’s like 10 examples of guys lowering and leading with the crown in last nights games alone. If you want to keep the rule fine but no one should be ejected for a hit like that.

Yep but they’re much more enforced now.
Honestly spearing is crazy dangerous and I think should be enforced more. No excuse to lower your head in 2020, I was taught that was dangerous in high school in the mid 90s.
It’s to protect the defender more than anything in these cases. You can still deliver huge hits without compressing your spine like that.

They don’t make electable calls on Bama players. Saban would belittle them to no end on National TV and they don’t want that.

If we’re being honest here, Fields being injured paused the game enough and gave replay a reason to review. If Fields pops up, no penalty.
In 2016 or whatever, replay doesn’t stop that game to review for that targeting.
But I think spearing, as noted above, should be very enforced. It’s arguably the most dangerous play in football.

I honestly think that hit put Watson into another mode. He got up pissed and determined to win that game.
