This is a waste of money. The main reason the Vikings were bad (okay, there is a host of them) was the defense was god awful.

The Vikings are very strong in their skill positions. Patterson, Jennings, and Rudolph are all very talented players who can and will flourish under a good QB. Peterson is Peterson.

The O-line was mediocre last year, but it should be upgraded. They are not bringing back G Charlie Johnson who was their weak spot. Matt Kalil had a regression last year, but I think he will right the ship. Not too worried about the line.

The real way to fix the Vikings is to improve their linebacking core and shore up the secondary. I think they need to sign both an OLB and a CB. The return of Harrison Smith is huge for their secondary.

The Vikings could be a good team this year (wild card potential) if they hit on a QB and shore up the defense. They have no chance of winning more than 7 games if their defense continues to suck arse. I think Zimmer will do work on that side of the ball.
