Yeah no. He’s an elite interior pass rusher but they had to bring in Suh because he was/is dookie against the run.

Wont get any argument from me, dude's enjoying a monster season and his team's one of the best in the league unfortunately precedent dictates only a very few defensive players ever win this award as its essentially specific to either the best running back or quarterback, would be great if he does though dude is a LEGEND of the sport

He’s better as a pass rusher but he’s also great against the run.
They brought in Suh because as great as Donald is, he can’t play two positions at once

This comes down to how you want to define the MVP award. I personally think it should go to the best player having the best season.
If you want it to truly be “valuable” just call it a QB award. And then it would also be dependent on backup QB. Mahomes is more valuable than Brees because if Mahomes and Brees both go down, the Saints and their run game plus Hill would have them in better shape than the Chiefs without Mahomes. That’s a silly reason to give a player an award imo, as its heavily dependent on other players around you.

It stands for Most Valuable Player. That’s why Watt didn’t have a shot in either 2012 or 2014. Also one of the most important aspects of the award are team wins.
I think they should change the award from MVP to Player of the Year since QBs are almost always going to be more valuable given how the sport is designed. It might not change much but might cause some voters to view it differently.

Brees and Mahomes get blasted for having 1 bad game. Donald didn't even lay a finger on Brees when they played. Hell, make Larry Warford the MVP, he's Aaron Donald's daddy. Or maybe it was Peat, see, he was so irrelevant I don't even remember who was blocking him.

Agree. Donald is having a monster season. Deserves MVP as much as anyone.

Donald got handled against the Saints. One tackle and the Saints rushed for 140+ yards.
